The 1975 - Pressure

The 1975 - Pressure

While doing research into what song we wanted to make a music video for, we eventually narrowed the song options down to Bastille - These Streets, The 1975 - You, and The 1975 - Pressure. We chose this selection of songs because we felt that the artists Bastille and The 1975 represented the indie pop genre well, and had music in the style that we enjoyed and liked the sound of. Out of this selection, we chose The 1975 - Pressure to be the song we made our music video for. We felt that The 1975 was a band that we liked the branding of as well as us liking previous music videos that were made by this band, with a style we felt we wanted to emulate and manipulate. Pressure was chosen above any other songs because we liked the tempo and atmosphere of the song. It isn't too happy or up-beat, meaning that we can possibly bring in some deeper, or darker concepts or messages in the music video. We also wanted a song with a decent amount of lyrics that could be lip synced too, and this song allowed for this too. Our initial ideas for this song is to have a setting of an empty urban town, possibly at night or with rain in some scenes. The music video being partially or entirely in black and white is also a possibility. We want to have a main vocalist and the rest of the band members appearing in the music video, possibly with the band members playing instruments in some scenes.
